ScholarshipAs sorority women, we strive for academic excellence. The sororities at Western aim to support their members' academic pursuits in every way they can. Many chapters have minimum averages, scholarship awards, and various programs to provide their members with all the resources they need to excel at Western. Sisters who excel academically are recognized with awards from their individual sorority and the Panhellenic Council.
Since there are so many diverse women in each sorority, you are bound to run into sisters at the library, in your classes, or within your program. Most sororities offer mentorship programs where younger members are matched with an older member in a similar program to provide extra support like study sessions or tutoring. |
StudyingAll of our sororities provide study hours during which members can go to a designated spot on campus to study with their sisters. Sorority houses often have a designated study room that is always available to sisters looking for a quiet place to work. During exams, we reserve study rooms or claim tables in the library so sisters have a place to work and to get help from others in their program.
Those who hold a scholarship or academic chair position within their sororities provide extra support to help members stay academically motivated throughout the semester. They give advice, help with school work, connect current members with alumni working in fields of interest, and so much more. Just know that there is a great support system for school work and grades within the Greek Community! |
