UWO Sororities Info Table Concrete Beach: September 21-25 from 9 AM- 4 PM Make sure to stop by Concrete Beach outside the UCC during these dates! Members of the Panhellenic Council and Rho Gammas will be at the UWO Sororities booth to answer any questions, comments, or concerns in addition to sharing great experiences. This is a great way to get information before Recruitment weekend officially begins!
Recruitment Info Session September 27, 2020 from 6 PM- 8 PM Visit our virtual, 2-hour Sorority and Recruitment 2020 information session. During this event you will be able to learn more about the recruitment process, what sorority life is like, and ask any questions you have. Representatives from each sorority, along with women in the Panhellenic Council, will be available for you to chat with.
Meet Your Rho Gamma Night September 29, 2020 The night before recruitment begins is a chance to ask any questions and to get to know all of the Rho Gammas who will be guiding you through recruitment weekend! A Rho Gamma is an active sorority member who has temporarily hidden her affiliation to help Potential New Members (or PNMs, that's you!) find their new Chapter. Each Potential New Member will be assigned a Rho Gamma to act as a recruitment counsellor to assist them during the formal recruitment process.
Recruitment Round 1: Open House September 30- October 2, 2020: *MANDATORY FOR ALL REGISTERED In the first round of recruitment, Potential New Members will be introduced to all five of our sororities through a virtual orientation. This round is known as 'Open House', where you will have a 48-hour window to watch pre-recorded videos, while accompanied by your Recruitment Counsellor, from all five chapters. This round is meant to introduce each sorority to learn more about what makes each one unique!
Recruitment Round 2: Invitational Round October 3, 2020: *MANDATORY FOR ALL REGISTERED During the second round, Potential New Members will participate in virtual rounds with UP TO 4 sororities using an online video chat platform. You may join between 6 to 8 virtual rounds based on your schedule provided by your Recruitment Counsellor the night before. These web-chats will be small in size and last 30-minutes with short breaks in between rounds. During these longer ‘parties’ you will learn more about each sorority's philanthropic commitments, core values, and more! After all the 'parties', you will rank the sororities you visited this round.
Recruitment Round 3: Preference Night October 4, 2020: *MANDATORY FOR ALL REGISTERED The final night of recruitment will take place in-person following local public health and social distancing guidelines. On this night Potential New Members will visit either 1 or 2 sororities, your Recruitment Counsellor will send out your schedule with locations and times the night before. During these hour-long ‘parties’, you will learn more about the Chapter’s sisterhood and hear personal stories of what it means to be a member of that sorority. This round is dressier- wear a dress that makes you feel good! Transportation between recruitment locations is NOT provided during this round. There will be a long enough breaks in-between rounds for you to take the bus or call an Uber to your next location. At the end of the night you will submit a ranking of your 1st and 2nd choice sorority (out of those you visited during this round).
BID DAY! October 5, 2020: The day you’ve all been waiting for! To celebrate the end of recruitment the Panhellenic Council hosts ‘Bid Day’. This is an exciting day where Potential New Members find out which sorority they have been invited to join! This year, Bid Day will take place virtually, by sending bids to every Potential New Memberwho was invited to join a sorority. A ‘sorority reveal’ of each Recruitment Counsellor and Panhellenic Council member will take place on Instagram. Once Potential New Members have opened their bid cards, each sorority may host their own Bid Day (following social distancing guidelines) later that day to continue the celebration!
